London University – Goldsmiths College.
Lloyds of London – Marine Underwriters.
London College Of Printing.
With this rather varied start to my working life, it was obvious I was not suited to teaching or an office environment in the City of London. Something a little more Creative was calling! After considerable soul searching, I applied and was accepted at the London College of Printing On a 3 year Photography Course.
Leaving the LCP with a thorough grounding in stills, film and TV, I was fortunate to land a job as an assistant to a well known still life advertising photographer, with a studio on Bourdon street near Berkeley Square. This sort of experience at the time was highly sort after and like gold dust. It was long hours, badly paid and you were the general dogs body but the benefit was, you made friends and contacts and could use the studio out of hours.
My First Studio
A couple of years later and a with a few contacts I set up my first Studio in High Street Kensington and specialised in Still-Life and Product photography working for many well known advertising agencies in London. Broadening the depth of my experience to other photographic disciplines as time and commissions went by.
To the Present Day
After 20 or so years working in London and having had to move premises twice to Maida Vale and Notting Hill Gate, we decided to move to North Devon to bring up our growing family. Now with over 40 years experience in photography – film and digital, I am working in South Molton in a spacious modern studio, accepting a variety of work from all types and sizes of business.
